MOORE / BRANDT

Henry Moore and Bill Brandt led parallel and intersecting careers - one as the greatest sculptor of the twentieth century, the other as the greatest photographer in Britain. The focus of both their art was the human figure, their works speaking so meaningfully to each other. This connection is further emphasised by Moore's own richly creative life as a photographer. Until recently his photography has been critically neglected, and original prints seldom if ever appear on the market. Photography is the medium by which Moore is represented in this exhibition, photos of his own sculpture appearing alongside Brandt's studies of the female nude.
We are delighted to stage what is the first commercial exhibition to bring the photographs of these two masters together, in association with The Grob Gallery, Geneva. It follows the museum show that was held at The Hepworth Wakefield, The Yale Center for British Art and The Sainsbury Centre in 2020-1. All works are for sale. |
