Robert Upstone is a private art dealer who specialises in twentieth and twenty first-century British Art. He was formerly Head of Modern British Art at the Tate, acquiring works for the nation and curating many exhibitions at museums and galleries around the world. Robert now applies the same specialist knowledge and rigour to help private clients build their collections. After the Tate, Robert was Director of The Fine Art Society in Bondt Street, Britain's oldest commercial dealership, where he logged many high profile sales. In 2016 he started his own business.
Robert is one of the permanent members of the Government's Acceptance In Lieu Panel. He is writing the catalogue raisonné of Christopher Wood.
